ABOUT ME

Untitled-1

My names is Alexandra Fox

I just finished my fourth year of Fashion Communications at Ryerson University in Toronto, but my heart remains in Ghana, West Africa. I originally hail from a pink house on a hill in St. John’s, Newfoundland. I’m an intrepid event planner, with a place in my heart for design and photography to boot. I yell a lot, tend to dance in the streets, and I have a passion for extraordinary disruptive change.

I believe that the perceptions the “West” has of Africa are skewed, and are based on a simplified, paternalistic view. My passion is highlighting the diverse reality of life – all over the world.

The Complexity Project , a project taking up most of my foreseeable future, is a campaign designed to re-engage and change perceptions of Africa and development through embracing complexity. I believe there doesn’t always need to be an action (usually defined by the money we spend) we are able to take, but that being engaged and critically thinking about the world around us is our best tool for fighting against poverty.
